Tattva Yogshala

Tattva Yogshala

Tattvaa Yogashala (commonly searched as Tattva Yogshala) is one of the oldest and most prominent registered yoga schools located in the global yoga capital of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. Established in 2007 by Yogi Kamal Singh, it holds the distinction of being the first dedicated Ashtanga Yoga school in North India.

The school sits directly on the sacred banks of the Ganges River in the Swarg Ashram area, making it a highly sought-after destination for international and domestic students seeking intensive, traditional yoga training.

Core Programs Offered

The school is globally certified by the Yoga Alliance USA and offers structured, rigorous residential programs:

  • Yoga Teacher Training (YTT): Intensive multi-week certification tracks available at the 100-hour, 200-hour (Primary), 300-hour (Intermediate), and 500-hour (Advanced) levels. The curriculum heavily incorporates Mysore-style Ashtanga Vinyasa, traditional Hatha, alignment, anatomy, and Vedic philosophy.
  • Yoga Retreats: Shorter, experiential wellness programs spanning 3-day, 7-day, and 10-day durations meant for personal rejuvenation.
  • Specialised Sessions: Daily drop-in classes, meditative Vedic fire rituals (Hawans), sound healing with singing bowls, and Yoga Nidra.

Experience and Facilities

  • The Setting: Operating as a certified school rather than a luxury resort, it focuses on ashram-style discipline, requiring mandatory early morning schedules, clean sattvic vegetarian meals, and mindfulness.
  • Accommodations: Simple yet comfortable lodging close to the shala, with several rooms featuring balconies that overlook the Himalayas and the Ganges.
  • Class Dynamics: The school uses small training batches to ensure personalized posture alignment and adjustments from senior faculty members.
